Guitar Notes: I Want To Create My Own Music Studio?

Live at Montreux 1995 Gary Moore : vocals, guitar Tommy Eyre (RIP) : keyboards Andy Pyle : bass Graham Walker : drums Nick Pentelow : sax Nick Payne : sax

Hi, I’m 13 and I’ve always wanted to record myself singing and putting it on YouTube. A lot of the songs that I sing are acoustic, I usually play guitar while singing. I want to get one of those microphones, to make the sound better quality, but how do you use it? Do you have to plug it in your computer? I won’t be remixing any of my songs, just recording. So what kind of stuff will I need? Will I need to soundproof my walls? I think my singing is quite decent, I basically sound like a girl version of Howie day, I can hit all the notes he can. So can you help me please? Thank you

This is easy. No need to soundproof, as long as your family don’t mind hearing you. You need a microphone to plug into your computer, yes, but nothing more. Make sure your room isn’t echoey, so fill it with furniture if it is. If you want a proper recording studio, then you should make one in a conservatory (if you have one) or an office.ask a parent to do this.
