I’m kinda socially awkward and pretty shy when it comes to cute guys. I’ve always considered myself as a loser magnet, unfortunately, so when a hot guy winks at me I have no idea what to do and how to act!
This hot guy winked at me twice at the guitar lesson and since I didn’t know what else to do, I kept asking him to show me some chords and stuff like that.
I’m pretty comfortable with guys once I get to know him, but the first contact is a nightmare for me!
So what should I do if he winks at me again, or even asks me out? Help me please!

I know my parents love me v. much and I love them as well but I feel like I’m suffocating. They are so protective of me and my sister it’s unreal. It’s like they are always there checking up on me and I can’t get any space. I feel like a little girl….I have no independance or freedom because I’m not allowed to do anything. The other day, I had to walk from school to my guitar lesson – it’s a 5 minute walk – my mum then phones the music school and asks if I arrived ok! I am 17 years old!!! Anyway the situation is that I’ll be applying to unis after the summer and there is only 1 uni that I can go to that would still allow me to stay out home – for my other options I would have to move out. My parents want me to go to this uni so that I can carry on living at home and I am dreading the thought of living at home for the next 6 years….no way. I am so excited at the thought of moving out but at the same time I would feel guilty because my mum would be so depressed and upset and I….
really don’t want her to be but she can’t expect me to live with her forever!! I can’t bear to think how upset she’s going to get but I can’t take living at home anymore……please am I being selfish?
no no, no death of a child….but my mum’s mum died from cancer when my mum was like 23….so I dunno, maybe that has something to do with it?

I’m a girl and I’m 14 years old. I was just messing about on my brothers xbox, completely chilled out, and then my heart started beating really hard and fast. I think it’s called palpitations? I had to stop what I was doing because I felt really weak, like I was going to faint. I was so scared. I tried breathing really slow but my heart just beat faster. I actually thought I was having a heart attack so I walked slowly upstairs to find my brother. I felt really hot and I was absolutely covered in sweat, I was convinced I was going to die. I couldn’t find my brother so I went back downstairs, grabbed a glass of water and sat down. Once I’d got my breathing sorted and calmed myself down my heart went back to normal. But then I went from being really hot to being freezing cold, it was so strange. So I went on the computer, trying to work out what had just happened, checked all my symptoms and it looked like I had a panic attack. But I don’t know. I don’t remember this happening before. The heart palpitations lasted for about a minute. But it took a while to get calm and back to normal. Even now I’m still shaking, I was so frightened. I don’t know what brought it on.

I suppose it would make sense though, I’m under more than a fair bit of strain. I have so much work at school and I do so many extra-curricular things I don’t usually get much down time. I get up at 7, leave at 8.30, I usually have a club or a choir or something on at both lunch and break, school finishes at 3, then every single afternoon I have something on at after school (eg Monday – choir, Tuesday – Art Club, Wednesday – Revision session, Thursday – Drama Club, Friday – Rehearsals) So these optional after school sessions finish at 5. I get home at half 5, have dinner. Then homework/coursework/learning lines/rehearsing/revising takes up my evenings. And some evenings I have other stuff on as well (eg Wednesday – Maths Tutor, Thursday – Piano Lesson etc). I usually start getting ready for bed at around 9.30, I’m nearly always in bed by 10, and try to be asleep by 11. So I have a pretty packed schedule, especially compared to all my friends who don’t do anything apart from go to school and maybe have the odd guitar lesson or go swimming or something like that. I’m really involved with my school’s drama department and I’m usually in about 6 shows/musicals/plays in one term, most of which involve more than one performance. On top of that I’m in 5 different choirs, a band, a jazz orchestra, a gamelan orchestra, and about 3 other clubs/groups… which I suppose is excessive, but all the things I do I love, and I don’t want to have to quit anything. But if it’s getting to the point where it’s affecting my health, then I suppose I’ll have to.

I do my best to keep my school grades up but it’s difficult when I’m so busy. I get so stressed, and I don’t know how to deal with it. Maybe that’s the cause of the panic attack, or maybe it wasn’t a panic attack at all. I don’t know whether to talk to my parents about it all. And whether I should cut back on all the extra-curricular stuff. Any ideas about what I can do?

My boyfriend is in america at the mo he’s asleep now he wanted me to stay up and talk . . but im sleepy and have a guitar lesson early tomorrow . . . .i want to sleep should i wait?
I dont think he will be very happy if i go to sleep . . .
I stay up most night really late to talk to him . . .

When I play guitar I get lactic acid build up in my left arm (strumming arm, I play lefty) at the shoulder or elbow. It causes quite a bit of pain. I also sometimes get it in my right fingers (fretting hand).

I’ve adjusted playing position a few times and the one I found playing at the 3rd pickup (nearest the bridge) and sitting up really straight got rid off it almost completely.

Also, when I’m in a guitar lesson it seems to be worse but when I’m just jamming for fun (even in lesson), there’s no pain, nothing.

What could be causing the pain?
