I’ve been playing for a while, when I was around 9/10 I had lessons for a few months, gave up for a few years and now I’ve been playing for 6 months and I’m 13. I probably know a few others, but I can’t remember. Would you say I’m good? And do you know other songs like these that I could be able to play?

“The Trooper” is a song written by Iron Maiden bass player Steve Harris. It is Iron Maiden’s ninth single, and the second from their 1983 album Piece of Mind. The single was released on June 20, 1983. The song is about the Battle of Balaclava in 1854 during the Crimean War, and is at least partially based upon Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem “The Charge of the Light Brigade”, taking the viewpoint of one of the slain troopers, who, in the coverart, is perceived as a bald Eddie. He likes and has…
guitar hero, mario, wii fit and sports. He also plays World of Warcraft and some similar playstation games.

ok so im a 14 year old girl and have been wanting to play bass for over a year ive finally got the money but …..

A) im totally clueless how to play & i can’t pay for lessons s ive got to teach myself how???

B) im VERY small 4’7 & my arms are short so does that mean i can’t play bass?

C) can a lead guitarist teach a bass the General concept & how to play if they never played bass?

D) are the music (riffs are they called) used for bass & lead or just lead?
oh and with bass do/can you use a pick?

I plan to play a concert using a PS2 guitar hero guitar to control a synthesiser in logic on my mac. I have the wireless PS2 adapter with a Playstation to USB converter that sends the HID signals into my laptop, and the buttons are detected by programs on my laptop (such as gamepad companion. I want to map different combinations of buttons together to produce one midi note (ie. button 1 + hatswitch = ‘C’, button 1 + button 2 + hatswitch = ‘D’) but do not know what programs to use. Gamepad companion cannot map multiple buttons together, and i do not know whether junXion can either..any ideas?

Guitar Lessons: Am I Improving Well Enough On Guitar?

Scorpions guitarrists’ Mathias Jabs and Rudolph Schenker in a guitar lesson teaching the fans how to play No One Like You and Rock you like a Hurricane, and also talking about the way they composed each one.

So I’ve been playing for a little over a year now and i was just wondering if i’m improving well enough. I haven’t had any lessons purely because i just dont have the time.

The hardest song I can play is probably Blackbird by The Beatles or with a little hesitation in the solo, Hotel California by the Eagles.

I already play piano so i can move my left hand fingers quite quickly, as a result sometimes my picking speed can seem not up to scratch. I was also wondering if there are any exercise to improve my picking speed?

well,i want to skateboard but my parents don’t really want me to,they say i’m going to hurt my self etc but i think that’s part of learning…when i want to do something i want to pay for it myself and to be honest i’m 13 and i don’t have that kind of money or in my town they don’t really have those type of workshops or places where we can learn things.
some people say they’ve learnt things through websites like youtube,i know a few people that have learnt how to play guitar and keyboard but i want to know if anyone has learnt something like skateboarding through a video/tutorial/website etc
and i don’t know the first thing about skateboarding so recommend a type of skateboard i can use (maybe a random one from argos or something or does it have to be a special one i don’t know) i’ve always wanted to skateboard…i tried it once and fell off so i’ve kind of had a fear and i want to over come this and hopefully take on skateboarding :-)
oh & i’m a girl if that makes any difference to my question i don’t really know just thought i’d put it in lol

What are the tunings for a yueqin? (yueh-ch’in) – and is there anywhere to learn in London?

he yue qin is a traditional Chinese instrument, it has four strings, sometimes called the Moon Guitar.

I am not very musical so the Wikipedia explanation: “four strings tuned in courses of two (each pair of strings is tuned to a single pitch), generally tuned to the interval of a perfect fifth.” does not help me.

Anyone???..

Also if anyone knows of lessons in London or a basic instructional text much appreciated.

“One of my favourite pastimes of late is to surf YouTube in a bid to chance upon fantastically arranged and played pieces of movie music. There is a countless number of such arranged pieces out there, but it’s only an extremely small portion of them that truly mesmerize me and manage to find their way into one of my playlists.

I always find that the arranged pieces too heavily built on the original melodies do not appeal to me. On the other hand, I tend to much prefer such pieces that are boldly arranged from the original tunes but at the same time moderately stick to the original as well.

On a different note, I believe that the greatest appeal of arranged music is that an original piece can be played on a number of different musical instruments. There was this, one original piano piece, that I always thought much better suited for a guitar played version. I was totally beside myself with excitement when I finally came across a marvellous guitar arrangement of it on YouTube.”

I’ve composed these sentences in practise for improving my English. Thank you very much for any advice or correction.
